2023's gratitude post - A year in review
I'm Mitja Mirtič, the CEO of Goolets, and I'm excited to pen down again my favorite blog post – a year in review. As I continue with this tradition, I'm reminded of the wise words by Neale Donald Walsch: "The struggle ends when the gratitude begins."

This year, as I sit down to reflect, there's so much to be grateful for. Join me as we revisit the highs of 2023 and express our appreciation for the incredible journey we've had. The Birth of a New Yachting Brand
2023 was the birth year of DS Yachts - a brand on a mission to redefine and popularize "Super-Yachting." More than luxury, we're about accessibility, aiming to make yachting an inclusive adventure for all. Join us in this new era, where DS Yachts symbolize sophistication and innovation, setting sail into uncharted waters.
Team Building aboard 3 gulets in Croatia
We orchestrated an incredible team-building journey in Croatia aboard gulets Nostra Vita, Santa Clara, and Eleganza—a transformative experience fostering unity and camaraderie. From islands adventures to shared moments onboard, this excursion left an indelible mark, showcasing the impactful synergy between our team dynamics and the breathtaking Croatian landscapes.
Three new office spaces
We inaugurated three new office spaces dedicated to our direct sales teams, the commercial team, and office support. These spaces include a dynamic room for meetings and focused work, providing an environment for both collaboration and peaceful productivity. Additionally, a new office was established specifically for our company's CEOs, further enhancing our infrastructure for efficient and purposeful operations.
An inaugural event for our Central Agency yacht owners
Our time in Lipica, Slovenia was both enjoyable and productive, with discussions covering product development, strategies for increased bookings, and service enhancements. Excitingly, we've set dates for a second event at Sibon luxury estate in January 2024, where we're gearing up to elevate our initiatives to new heights. The anticipation is high, and we're ready to turn our ideas into actions for a period of growth and success.
Content creation brought to a whole new level
We elevated our content creation efforts to a whole new level, investing over 30 full days with our complete production video team, alongside some fantastic influencers and models in Croatia. During this period, we produced a myriad of incredible content, including videos, showcasing the essence of our yachts.
Hosted one of the strongest influencers in the World on Yacht Ohana
In an extraordinary collaboration, we had the privilege of hosting Enes Yilmazer, a leading influencer in the luxury world, aboard Yacht Ohana. This encounter proved truly exceptional for both him and our team, blending his refined perspective with the elegance of Ohana. The synergy between him and us created a memorable experience.
Two press trips for some of the most recognized journalists in the world
We organized two remarkable press trips aboard yachts Ohana and Cristal and hosted some of the most influential journalists in the world of yachting and luxury services. This initiative has not only showcased the excellence of Croatian Superyachts but has also garnered increasing admiration globally. People are increasingly in awe of the unparalleled services, luxurious vessels, and warm hospitality that Croatia has to offer.

Expanded our central agency fleet to 16 yachts
With a fleet that includes 11 DS Yachts-type vessels and 5 gulets, we proudly boast the largest Crewed Yacht fleet of such vessels in Croatia under our management. Recognizing the responsibilities that come with this distinction, we remain committed to ensuring the highest standards in both bookings for these ships and the quality of services provided to our customers. As we move forward, our dedication to excellence remains unwavering.
Increase of Goolets team members
With the addition of new team members, our Goolets family now stands at a robust 27. I'm genuinely thrilled by the positive energy and collaboration within our ranks, where each member seamlessly complements the others, fostering a vibrant work culture. As we continue to evolve, the dedication and collaborative spirit of each team member remain the driving force behind our ongoing success at Goolets.
Established a middle management team
In 2023, we placed significant emphasis on restructuring our company for growth. Despite unexpected challenges, the results have exceeded my expectations. Our team and leadership (besides the company owners) are now robust, and we remain committed to substantial investments in education and the growth of our people.
Working hard and eager for new challenges
We're grateful to be in the most interesting industry in the world—Yachting. Maintaining a "beginner's mindset," our entire Goolets team feels like we're just scratching the surface of what lies ahead. Despite challenges, it's still fun to work and dream about exciting new projects. With a dedicated and hardworking team, we're tackling projects that may seem impossible to outsiders. Gratitude fills us as we continue in this position.
As 2023 concludes, gratitude fills me for the milestones achieved at Goolets—DS Yachts' birth, influencer hosting, fleet expansion, and team growth. Our presence at yacht shows and the establishment of a middle management team highlight our commitment to excellence. Thanks to the team, partners, and supporters for a fantastic year. Wishing everyone a Happy New Year filled with more adventures and success.
